PicAnchor compared with a plain phone camera

A plain phone camera saves a photo, and an editing app can add a stamp afterwards. PicAnchor burns the stamp in when you press the shutter and registers the photo's fingerprint at the same time. The table sets out the differences.

PicAnchor does not judge what a photo shows. A check shows that a file is unchanged since it was registered, and when. It does not show that the scene is true. Editing apps differ; the middle column describes stamps added after the photo exists, in general.

FAQ

Questions about the comparison

Can I add a timestamp to a photo afterwards?

Yes. Editing apps can print a date and place on an existing photo. What they print is added after the photo exists, so it is only as reliable as what was typed in or read from the file.

Does PicAnchor replace my phone camera?

For work photos, yes: it has its own camera with flash, front and back switch and pinch zoom. Your phone's camera app still works as before.

Is the stamp stored in the file data?

No. It is burned into the pixels of the picture, so it stays visible when the photo is shared or printed.

Does PicAnchor keep my photos?

On your own, photos stay on your phone. The registry stores a digital fingerprint and two times, never the picture. Team photos go to the company's own gallery.
